Simon Wilby Redefines the Way We Use Energy

What Simon Wilby lacked in formal training in the science of energy, he compensated with his keenness to ideas. Many electric companies have already invested on similar ventures, but the CEO of Smart Power Inc. singlehandedly designed an ingenious battery pack that can truly change the way we recharge our cellular phones.

The Smart One was born out of Simon Wilby’s frustration over the pesky process of continuously recharging cell phone batteries. As a solution, he invented a self-charging solar powered battery that easily fits all types of cell phones.

Being an aftermarket device, The Smart One works by modifying the original set-up of a phone’s battery circuitry. The negative and positive elements are moved to the inside of the battery door, which would allow for continuous power flow between the solar cell outside the battery door and the connections within the battery. The solar cell will then do its work by collecting energy from any available light sources.

With this kind of technology, Simon Wilby anticipates that it won’t be long until he invents more productive ways of utilizing solar energy. Along with the creation of solar powered gadgets, he also plans to illuminate Barbados using solar powered street lights.
