Simon Wilby – The Natural Inventor

Research on converting solar energy for mobile phone use has been going on for a while. In fact, a number of big electronic companies have already invested hundreds of thousands of dollars on research. Most were made in vain though because what they have come up so far have limited practical success. But, when the idea of creating a solar powered lithium battery dawned to Simon Wilby, he knew he was right on the money.

Interestingly, Simon Wilby did not receive any formal training in sciences relating to energy. Nevertheless, he is the genius behind several practical inventions like the two-way voice collar for dogs, which he invented more than a decade ago, and the solar powered cell phone battery, which was launched earlier this year.

The Smart One, the name of his current project, is a revolutionized lithium cell phone battery that relies on solar energy for power. It works within a very simplistic principle of converting solar energy to mobile phone energy via a kit that can seamlessly fit most mobile phone brands and models around the globe.

Through the use of a patented plastic solar cell, Simon Wilby projects to encourage 3 billion mobile phone users to switch to more reliable, more efficient and constantly powered solar batteries.
